Installation notes
Observe the correct assembly sequence per bolt location as described in TM 9-1803B section Body and Frame. Standard sequence (from top to bottom): bolt head, small external tooth washer, flat washer, large internal/external tooth washer, body bracket, asphalt insulation pad (supplied separately), frame, large internal/external tooth washer, flat washer, small external tooth washer, nut and PAL nut. Position 4 (under fuel tank hat channel) is mounted from below with bolt facing upwards into captive nut. Positions 7 and 8 use 2" bolts; position 4 uses 1" bolt.
Compatibility
This set is specifically assembled for Ford GPW. The Willys MB uses the same thread sizes but may require slightly different lengths or washer combinations on some positions. Bolt heads on GPW are typically not marked with "F" stamp, with the exception of the horizontal toeboard gusset bolts (toeboard position). Always use body mounting pads (rubber-fabric laminate) between body and chassis — these are not included in the set.
