Specific to Ford GPW (1941-1945). The kit mounts on the four studs that protrude through the holes in the hat channel of the rear panel, two studs on each side. Holds the J-hooks to which the rear seat backrest attaches.
Installation notes
The hooks slide over the studs protruding through the rear panel and are secured with nuts, plain washers and lock washers. According to SNL G-503: 1/4-20NC-2 nuts with plain washer and lock washer. The studs are originally welded to the rear of the hat channel. During restoration: studs can be re-welded or mounted with bolts through the panel.
Compatibility
Ford GPW only. Ford GPW hooks are thicker than Willys MB hooks and feature the Ford 'F' marking. Not suitable for M38 or M38A1 which use a different mounting system.
