Application
Early Willys MB and Ford GPW vehicles (1941 until mid-1942). After mid-1942, this brass/bronze version was replaced by a stamped steel clamp. Note: reproduction catches may not work well with original brass clamps due to differing widths.
Installation notes
Secures the windscreen to the cowl with adjustable slot for correct alignment. Mount left and right of the windscreen. Works together with catch WO-A-2791 (FM-GPW-1104388) which is fitted to the cowl. When using reproduction parts: check that clamp and catch work well together, original and reproduction parts may differ in dimensions.
Compatibility
Exclusively for early MB/GPW vehicles (until mid-1942). NOT compatible with late model vehicles using the stamped steel version. For restoration: check whether your vehicle was originally equipped with brass or steel clamps. Ford early script GPW vehicles used this type. Later produced vehicles had stamped steel clamps without the slot adjustment.
Historical context
The brass/bronze windscreen clamps were used on the earliest production Willys MB and Ford GPW jeeps from 1941. Mid-1942, this expensive cast version was replaced by a simpler stamped steel version as part of production simplification during the war.
