★ Correct fitting set to original military specification — essential for a watertight and durable installation of the windscreen-cowl seal.

Application

For mounting the rubber windscreen-cowl seal on vehicles with round-tube windscreen frame. Fits vehicles in categories: Willys MB (1941-1945), Ford GPW (1941-1945), CJ-2A (1946-1949), CJ-3A (1949-1953), CJ-3B (1953-1964), M38 (1950-1952). Note: Hotchkiss M201 uses a different mounting system with clips.

Installation notes

The rubber cowl seal (WO-A2476, sold separately) has pre-drilled holes into which these screws fit. Installation: position the rubber seal with the recesses facing downwards on the underside of the windscreen frame, with the screws passing through the pre-drilled holes in the rubber and threading into the frame. The seal thus forms a watertight closure between windscreen frame and body cowl. Recommended: first mount the frame onto the body and mark the correct position of the rubber before finally tightening the screws.

Compatibility

Note: this is the WW2/early CJ-type kit with straight ends of the seal. Suitable for round-tube windscreen frames of MB, GPW, CJ-2A, CJ-3A, CJ-3B and M38. Later CJ-3A/3B models sometimes used a seal with curved ends. Hotchkiss M201 has a wider/thicker seal type (HO40159) and uses clips instead of screws for mounting.

Historical context

The windshield-to-cowl seal was an essential component for waterproofing on military jeeps in WWII and subsequent production. The original Willys part number WO-A2476 (rubber) and associated hardware kit A2475 were used on production jeeps from 1941 into the 1950s.
