BODY TUB JEEP MB STD 42-43 ACM1
Originally fitted to Willys MB between August 1942 and December 1943 inclusive.
Details of the Willys MB type D crate:
No markings on the rear panel - trailer socket hole on the rear panels - support for vertical rear lights on the rear panel - Jerrican door stiffener and reinforcement gussets on the rear panel - rounded petrol tank compartment on the front floor - glove box - square cowl gussets - stamping of the round tool box latches on the rear wheel arches - Willys type rear bench seat frame supports - flat tool box covers.
STEEL MANUFACTURING ANTI-CORROSION TREATED BY CATAPHORESIS
Assembly order:
1. Place the body on the chassis and move it back as far as possible against the machine-gun support plate.
2.Screw the two front fenders onto the chassis.
3.Move the body forward up against the front fenders then screw the body to the fenders.
4.Do not attempt to align the rear of the body to the rear of the frame.
5.Drill the floor then bolt the box to the frame.
It is normal to see alignment differences between the rear of the body and the rear frame cross member.
If you proceed differently, you risk having gaps between the fenders and the body, making it impossible to assemble it.
This part is intended for the restoration of historic military vehicles. Fitting, aligning, deburring or reworking is part of that work and is inherent to the nature of these goods. Dimensional variation also exists between original vehicles.
