Features

  • 3/4" (19.05 mm) cylinder bore

  • For 9" drum brakes

  • Ready for installation

★ Reliable replacement for your original wheel cylinder. Manufactured to original specifications, suitable for classic military jeeps and post-war civilian models.

Application

Suitable for Willys CJ-2A (1946-1953), CJ-3A (1949-1953), M38 (1950-1952) and CJ-3B (from 1953) with 9" drum brakes on the rear axle. Also applicable to Willys MB and Ford GPW (1941-1945) with the same brake configuration.

Installation notes

Note: 1" wheel cylinders were used at the front, 3/4" at the rear. Before fitting, check that your vehicle has 9" drum brakes. The cylinder fits both left and right. Ensure complete bleeding of the brake system after installation. When replacing, it is recommended to also replace the opposite side for even braking performance.

Compatibility

NOT compatible with later models with 10" or 11" brakes. Vehicles with 9" brakes always use 3/4" wheel cylinders at the rear, 1" cylinders at the front. This component is for REAR application ONLY.

Historical context

The 9" drum brakes with 3/4" rear wheel cylinders were standard on military Willys MB and Ford GPW, and continued on early civilian CJ models until the early 1950s. This hydraulic brake system replaced the earlier mechanical system of pre-war models.
