Body/Chassis Rubber Pad

Set of 14 pieces

Complete set of rubber pads for mounting the body to the chassis. These pads provide vibration damping between body and frame and prevent metal-to-metal contact. Essential component for any restoration or body mount overhaul.

Material

Rubber with pre-drilled centre hole

Thickness

Approximately 1/4" (6.35 mm)

Set contents

14 pieces

Application

Body-to-frame mounting

Features

  • Set of 14 rubber pads for complete body mounting
  • Pre-drilled centre hole (approximately 3/4") for mounting bracket
  • Rot and weather-resistant rubber
  • Damps vibrations and prevents corrosion between body and chassis
  • Suitable for restoration and maintenance

★ High-quality rubber that does not rot or crumble like original pads after decades of use. Essential for correct body mounting with proper spacing and insulation between body and frame.

Application

Suitable for civilian jeeps CJ-2A (1945-1949), CJ-3A (1949-1953), CJ-3B (1953-1968) and military variants M38 (1950-1952) and M38A1 (1952-1971). Approximately 12-14 pads are required per vehicle, depending on the number of mounting points.

Installation notes

Pads are placed between the body outriggers and the chassis rails. Different locations may require slightly varying thicknesses for correct alignment of body to frame. Check during installation the alignment of front wing, pedal holes and other critical points. Preferably use grade 5 bolts with lock nuts.

Compatibility

Please note: early MB/GPW (WWII) may sometimes have differing configurations. Most civilian and post-war military jeeps use 1/4" pads as standard, but some positions (such as rear under the load floor) may require thinner pads. Always check the original configuration of your vehicle.

Historical context

Body mount pads were from the first Willys MB onwards a crucial component for damping vibrations and protecting the body against damage from frame movement. In the late 1950s, dealers sometimes cut replacement pads from discarded tyres.
