Application
Specific to Willys MB Slat Grill jeeps (serial numbers MB100001 through MB125809, production 18 November 1941 to 6 March 1942) and early stamped-grille MB jeeps. Originally, the Holland Hitch Co. Model T-60-A without trailer safety chain eye bolts was used up to vehicle number 158,372.
Installation notes
Mounts to the rear of the chassis with bolt set (sold separately, WOA593AA or WOA593EC). Fixing points are pre-drilled in the original MB chassis. Check that the spring lever functions correctly after fitting.
Compatibility
ONLY for Slat Grill and early MB models. NOT suitable for late MB/GPW with different pintle hook specifications. Late production (after serial number 158,372) received trailer safety chain eye bolts – this model does not have these. Not accepted for authentic competition restorations due to 'not approved' status.
Historical context
The first 25,808 Willys MB jeeps had a pintle hook without trailer safety chain mounting points. The 'STEEL' marking identifies the manufacturer of this early-war part, used during the slat grill production period until serial number 158,372.
