★ This sump is a reliable reproduction that fits all variants of the Willys L-134 four-cylinder engine. Essential component for any engine restoration or overhaul.

Installation notes

Thoroughly clean both sealing surfaces before installation. Use a new sump gasket (WO639980) with a light coating of gasket sealant. Tighten bolts in two stages following a cross pattern, not too tight to avoid distortion. Check bolts after first run and retighten lightly if necessary.

Compatibility

This sump fits all L-134 engines, both with chain-driven camshaft (early MB/GPW/M201) and gear-driven camshaft (late CJ-2A/CJ-3A/M38). Please note: the F-134 'Hurricane' engine (CJ-3B/late M38A1) requires a different sump.

Historical context

The L-134 'Go Devil' engine was the reliable four-cylinder that earned the Willys MB its reputation during WWII. This simple yet robust engine with its characteristic bypass oil filter system delivered sufficient power for military applications and remained in production well into the 1950s.
