Steel oil line to oil pressure gauge

1/4" diameter with machined ends

Steel oil line that carries oil pressure from the engine to the pressure gauge on the dashboard. This line runs from the flexible rubber hose at the rear of the engine to the rear of the oil pressure gauge. Manufactured with correct 1/4" diameter steel tube and machined ends for a reliable, leak-free connection.

Material

Steel, 1/4" diameter

Type

Mechanical oil pressure gauge line

Finish

Machined threaded ends

Function

Connects flexible hose to pressure gauge

Features

  • Steel tube 1/4" (6.35 mm) diameter as original
  • Machined threaded ends for perfect fit
  • Runs from flexible oil line to rear of pressure gauge
  • Replacement part for worn or damaged lines
  • Essential for correct oil pressure measurement

★ Precisely manufactured steel oil line with correct diameter and machined fittings for reliable oil pressure measurement on your restoration.

Application

This steel oil line is suitable for Willys MB (early MB and standard MB), Ford GPW, Hotchkiss M201, CJ-2A (1946-1949), CJ-3A (1949-1953) and M38 (1950-1952) with mechanical oil pressure gauge. Fits vehicles with the L-134 'Go Devil' engine where a mechanical pressure gauge system is used.

Installation notes

The steel line threads into the rear of the oil pressure gauge and connects via a union adapter to the flexible rubber oil line. Ensure all connections are properly tightened for an oil-tight seal. Check for leaks after installation with engine running. The line must run freely without kinks or contact with moving parts.

Compatibility

Note: Hotchkiss M201 pressure gauge has metric thread — for M201 the union adapter may need to be adapted. For MB and GPW with inch thread, this line fits directly. Not suitable for later models with electric oil pressure gauge (M38A1 and later CJ models use an electric system with sender unit).

Historical context

The mechanical oil pressure line was standard on all WWII Willys MB and Ford GPW jeeps. The system carries oil pressure via a flexible rubber hose from the engine block, through this steel tube to the mechanical Bourdon-tube pressure gauge on the dashboard — a robust and reliable system chosen by the military for its simplicity and ease of maintenance in field conditions.
