The bracket is mounted on the head bolts on the passenger side of the cylinder head. Note: sometimes a rubber grommet is required between bracket and canister — available locally. The bracket is only suitable for L-head engines, not for later F-head versions.
Compatibility
ONLY for L-134 flathead (L-head) engines. Does NOT fit F-134 overhead valve engines (such as in later CJ-5 from 1953 onwards). The bracket is specifically designed for military canister-type oil filters, not for modern spin-on filters.
