BEARING CONNECTING ROD 030 (SET OF 4)
Connecting rod bearing 0.030" undersize
Set of 4 pieces (for all 4 cylinders)
Connecting rod bearings in 0.030" undersize for engine overhauls where the crankshaft has been ground. This bearing set is suitable for 4-cylinder L-134 and F-134 engines. Required set for a complete overhaul of all four cylinders.

Type Split bearing |
Set contents 4 connecting rod bearings (complete for 4-cylinder engine) |
Features
- 030" undersize for ground crankshafts
- Set of 4 pieces for all cylinders
- Suitable for L-134 and F-134 engines
- Two-piece bearing design (split bearing)
- For engine overhauls with modified crankshaft diameter
★ Essential component during engine overhauls where the crankshaft has been reground. These undersize bearings compensate for material loss through grinding and ensure correct bearing clearance.
Application
Suitable for 4-cylinder L-134 and F-134 engines as used in various models. Use these 0.030" undersize bearings when the connecting rod journals on the crankshaft are ground 0.030". Standard crankshaft dimensions require standard bearings. If in doubt: have the crankshaft measured by a specialist overhaul workshop.
Installation notes
Note: connecting rods have an offset design — cylinders 1 and 3 differ from cylinders 2 and 4. Fit the bearings with the short end of the offset towards the nearest main bearing. The oil squirt holes must point away from the camshaft. Always check bearing clearance with plastigauge according to factory specifications. Observe the prescribed torque for connecting rod bolts.
Compatibility
Suitable for L-134 and F-134 engines. NOT interchangeable with standard or other undersize bearings (.010,.020,.040). The crankshaft MUST be ground 0.030" on the connecting rod journals. Do not use undersize bearings on standard crankshafts — this leads to excessive bearing clearance and engine damage.
Historical context
The L-134 'Go Devil' engine was introduced in 1941 for the military Willys MB and Ford GPW, and remained in production until the early 1950s. During engine overhauls, worn crankshafts were routinely reground in steps of 0.010", requiring appropriate undersize bearings.
