Installation notes

Cylinders must be professionally bored to.020 oversize before fitting these pistons. The machine shop must have the pistons in hand to perform correct boring and honing — piston-to-cylinder clearance is determined using a feeler gauge. Note correct installation orientation: T-slot and connecting rod offset must be correctly orientated relative to the camshaft.

Compatibility

Exclusively for engines where cylinders have been bored to.020 inch oversize. Not interchangeable with standard pistons or other oversizes (.030,.040,.060). The machine shop must measure cylinder bore and determine the correct oversize — never order a size without measurement.

Historical context

The L-134 Go Devil engine powered hundreds of thousands of military jeeps during WWII and the early post-war period. During engine overhauls, oversize pistons were routinely used to return worn cylinders to service.
