Installation notes

Check cylinder bore before fitting: standard size is 3.125 inches (79.375 mm) with a piston clearance of 0.0015 to 0.0020 inch. Oversizes are available for wear (.010,.020,.030,.040,.060). Measure cylinders accurately before ordering the correct size.

Compatibility

Fits both engine variants: L-134 flathead (chain or gear-driven camshaft) and F-134 overhead valve. Note: early MB/GPW (1941-1945) have chain-driven camshaft, later models (from 1945) have gear drive. Both use the same piston rings.

Historical context

The 4-134ci engine was produced during WWII by Willys and Ford, and remained in production until the early 1970s in various military and civilian jeeps.
