Fuel line from tank to filter

For vehicles with fuel filter mounted on firewall

Formed steel fuel line running from the fuel tank to the fuel filter on the firewall. This is the standard configuration for early and mid-production vehicles equipped with an AC fuel filter mounted on the firewall.

Material

Steel line

Finish

Pre-formed with fittings

Application

For vehicles with firewall-mounted filter

Connection

Tank to fuel filter

Features

  • Pre-formed steel fuel line
  • For use with AC fuel filter on firewall
  • Inverted flare connections
  • Correct length and bend radius
  • Suitable for early/mid-production vehicles

★ Replacement line for the classic fuel system with firewall-mounted filter housing as originally fitted until mid-1944.

Application

This fuel line is intended for vehicles equipped with a fuel filter mounted on the firewall. Early-production vehicles (1941-1944) had a standard AC fuel filter housing on the firewall. From mid-1944, the firewall-mounted filter was gradually replaced by an internal filter in the tank, and from mid-1945, the mounting holes for the firewall filter were even omitted.

Installation notes

Check that your vehicle has the original mounting holes for the fuel filter on the firewall. The line runs from the tank outlet along the left frame rail to the filter housing on the firewall. Ensure correct connection of the inverted flare fittings and use new gaskets if necessary.

Compatibility

NOT compatible with late-production vehicles (after mid-1944) that do not have a firewall-mounted fuel filter. On these later vehicles, the fuel line runs directly from the tank (with internal filter) to the fuel pump via a flexible line. Check that your firewall has the two mounting bolts for the filter housing.

Historical context

The AC fuel filter on the firewall was standard until mid-1944, when a more practical solution with an internal tank filter was introduced to reduce the number of components and potential leak points.
