★ Direct replacement for the classic spark plugs in Willys jeeps. Delivers reliable performance in vintage ignition systems without resistor (non-resistor type), as originally specified for these engines.
Installation notes
Recommended spark plug gap: 0.020" to 0.030" (depending on distributor type). Hand-tighten the spark plug with the supplied gasket, then torque to 34 lb-ft (46 Nm) for cast iron cylinder head. Check spark plug gap before installation. Note: over-tightening increases electrode gap.
Compatibility
This spark plug fits jeeps with L-134 Go Devil (flathead) and F-134 Hurricane (F-head) four-cylinder engines. Not suitable for engines with modern electronic ignition requiring resistor spark plugs. Cross-reference: Autolite 295, NGK B6S.
Historical context
The J8C spark plug is the modern successor to the legendary J8 spark plug that was supplied as standard in Willys jeeps from the Second World War through to the 1960s.
