This bulb is suitable for jeeps converted from 6V to 12V (such as CJ-2A) or from 24V to 12V (such as M38, M38A1). Used in tail lights, brake lights and indicators. The original military M38 and M38A1 had a 24V system, the CJ-2A originally had 6V — when converting to 12V, all bulbs must be replaced with 12V versions.
Installation notes
Turn the old bulb a quarter turn anticlockwise and pull out of the socket. Insert the new bulb into the socket and turn a quarter turn clockwise until it locks. Note the bayonet pins that fit into the slots of the lamp holder.
Compatibility
ONLY for 12V systems. Do not use in original 6V systems (early CJ-2A) or 24V systems (M38, M38A1 military) — these bulbs will blow immediately or provide insufficient light. If in doubt about your system voltage: check the marking on your battery, coil or voltage regulator.
