During assembly, maintain the sequence of gaskets, insulating washers and lock washers as noted during disassembly. The armature must be able to rotate freely in the bearings of the front and rear plates. Before assembly, check that the carbon brushes move smoothly in their guides and have sufficient length (minimum 8mm beyond the connection).

Specific to Ducellier 24V starter motors. Note: the 6V M201 models (1956-1960) had a different electrical system and use different starter motor components. Not applicable to 6V Willys MB, Ford GPW or early M201 models.
