Frame is mounted using existing hinge points and mounting hooks to the body. Depending on version and production period, the seat frame may or may not have brackets for the tyre pump beneath the seat. Check that mounting points are present in the body before fitting.

GPW frames bear a Ford F stamp to distinguish them from Willys MB frames. Early GPW (February-July 1942 'script' period) did not yet have tyre pump brackets; from approximately March 1943, GPWs were supplied as standard with tyre pump brackets beneath the rear seat. Parts are essentially interchangeable between MB, GPW and M201.

Ford produced a total of 277,896 GPWs between 1941-1945 under licence from Willys. Every Ford component bore the characteristic F stamp, even bolts and nuts, as identification of Ford's production within the standardised G-503 programme.
