Complete inner windscreen assembly for military jeeps, supplied fully assembled in one package. The frame is delivered including installed safety glass and rubber seals, ready for fitting into the outer frame.

Type

Inner windshield assembly

Delivery

Complete assembled with glass and seals

Application

Willys MB, Ford GPW, Hotchkiss M201

Glass

Safety glass, two pieces

Features

  • Inner windscreen frame completely assembled
  • Includes two safety glass panes
  • With rubber seals for watertight seal
  • Fitted with handle and hinge mechanism
  • Ready for fitting into outer frame

★ Supplied as complete assembly — saves assembly time and prevents damage during self-assembly of glass into frame.

Application

Suitable for Willys MB (1941-1945), Ford GPW (1941-1945) and Hotchkiss M201 (post-war production). Fits the standard split-screen outer frame with two glass panes and centre divider.

Installation notes

The inner frame is slid into the outer frame from the driver's side. Note the notch in the left tube construction that enables sliding. A little soap (washing-up liquid) on the hinge points facilitates assembly. Preferably assemble vertically with the outer frame upright — gravity assists insertion.

Compatibility

NOT compatible with CJ-2A or M38 windscreen frames — these are taller and have different mounting points. The M201 inner frame has a welded handle; MB/GPW frames usually have a bolted handle. Both are interchangeable within the split-screen configuration.

Historical context

The split-screen windscreen with two separate safety glass panes was standard on all Willys MB and Ford GPW jeeps during WWII. Hotchkiss continued this configuration with M201 production in France after the war.
