★ Precision reproduction for correct restoration of early Ford GPW and Willys MB jeeps from initial wartime production.
Application
Suitable for Ford GPW and Willys MB jeeps built from November 1941 to approximately November 1942, fitted with the early small mouth fuel tank. Please note: not compatible with later vehicles fitted with wide mouth fuel tank (from late 1942 onwards).
Installation notes
The frame is fixed at the front with pivot bolts (for folding function) and at the rear with a 5/16"-24NF bolt through the seat pan to the wheel arch. Check before fitting that your vehicle has a small mouth fuel tank — the opening in the seat pan must correspond with the position of the smaller tank cap. Mismatched tank/seat pan will result in alignment problems.
Compatibility
ONLY for early vehicles with small mouth fuel tank. Early and late tanks require different seat pans — a late wide mouth tank will not fit correctly with this early frame. Check the type of fuel tank in your vehicle before ordering. Small mouth tanks were used until approximately November 1942.
Historical context
Early Ford GPW production started in January 1942 and initially followed the Willys design with the smaller fuel tank opening. From late 1942 onwards, a change was made to the wide mouth tank with larger cap, which required an adapted seat pan.
