Complete front floor with channels Ford GPW Willys MB

ACM Type 2 configuration — Late war production

Complete front floor with integrated reinforcement channels (hat channels) for late war production Ford GPW and Willys MB. This ACM2 version is correct for vehicles built from January 1944 to August 1945 and includes the additional opening for radio conduit and the original side exhaust mounting points.

Version

ACM Type 2 (late oorlog)

Material

Geperst staal

Period

Januari 1944 - Augustus 1945

Includes

Hat channels, brandstoftank-put, montage-verstevigingen

Features

  • Complete front floor including fuel tank well and transmission tunnel connection
  • Pre-pressed reinforcement channels (hat channels) integrated — no assembly of separate parts
  • Additional opening for radio box conduit (ACM2 feature)
  • Mounting points for side exhaust retained (standard configuration)
  • Suitable for both Ford GPW and Willys MB late production bodies
  • Replaceable by welding — prepared for installation
  • Steel reinforcement collars instead of wood to prevent future corrosion

★ This floor replaces the complete front floor section and is accurately manufactured to original specifications. The integrated reinforcement channels provide structural strength identical to original production.

Application

This ACM Type 2 front floor is correct for Ford GPW and Willys MB vehicles produced from January 1944 until the end of production in August 1945. During this period, both Ford and Willys used composite bodies built by American Central Manufacturing Company. Please note: this is NOT the correct floor for early Willys MB bodies (before late 1943), which had different channel configurations.

Installation notes

Installation requires removal of the old floor and welding of the new panel. Check before installation that the original fuel tank fits correctly in the tank well. The reinforcement channels are fully pressed and already welded — no assembly required. Use steel reinforcement collars around the mounting points (supplied in high-quality sets) instead of wooden blocks to prevent corrosion. Please note: oversized part — shipping requires larger packaging.

Compatibility

ONLY suitable for ACM Type 2 bodies (late war). NOT compatible with early Willys MB bodies which had different channel dimensions and positions. The ACM2 has an additional hole for radio conduit which is not present on early floors. For very late production 1945 vehicles with deep mud exhaust (without underfloor exhaust brackets), an alternative ACM2 variant exists without exhaust mountings.

Historical context

American Central Manufacturing Company began production of standardised bodies for both Ford and Willys in late 1943. These so-called 'composite bodies' combined features of both manufacturers and were used exclusively from January 1944 until the end of war production.
