Features
- Vertical mounting brackets for early production
- Suitable for left and right
- Correctly formed width and mounting holes
- Fitting to inside of rear panel below light opening
- Prepared for use with rubber grommet around rear lights
★ These reproduction brackets have the correct shape and mounting holes for an authentic restoration of early production jeeps.
Application
Suitable for early production WWII jeeps from 1941-1943. The vertical brackets were replaced by horizontal brackets from approximately 1943-1944. Use together with rubber grommets that were characteristic of early rear light mounting.
Installation notes
The brackets are fixed with spot welds or screws to the inside of the rear panel, below the rear light opening and against the bottom of the tool box floor. Both brackets are identical and can be fitted left or right. Fit together with the correct rubber grommets for a watertight connection.
Compatibility
Please note: these early vertical brackets do NOT fit later jeeps from circa 1943-1944, which used horizontal brackets. Check using your chassis number and build date whether your vehicle requires early or late rear light brackets. If in doubt: early vehicles often also have rubber grommets around the rear lights.
Historical context
The early WWII jeeps had vertically orientated rear light brackets that were spot-welded below the opening. This construction was later replaced by horizontal brackets, one of many production modifications during wartime production at both Willys and Ford.
