Application
Early type for production 1942 to late 1942. Later in production (late 1942 to end of production August 1945), these were replaced by wooden blocks with fabric insert (A-4683).
Installation notes
The blocks are mounted on top of the cowl with 10-32 x 7/8" binding head machine screws. With the windscreen folded down, the front bonnet rests on these blocks.
Compatibility
Please note: this is the early version in all rubber. Later (from late 1942), production switched to wooden blocks with asphalt-impregnated cotton fabric insert. Check which type your vehicle originally had. Dimensions may differ between slat grille and standard MB/GPW (3/4" vs 1" height).
Historical context
These rubber bonnet blocks were used in early production of the WWII jeep (1942). From late 1942, they were replaced by wooden blocks with fabric insert to save rubber during wartime production.
