Brake line rear axle left driver's side

Pre-bent steel brake line

Pre-bent steel brake line for the rear axle left (driver's side). This brake line connects the master cylinder to the left wheel cylinder at the rear and is essential for a reliable braking system.

Material

Steel

Position

Rear axle left

Application

CJ-2A, CJ-3A, M38, CJ-3B

Type

Pre-bent line with fittings

Features

  • Pre-bent steel brake line for exact fit
  • Suitable for rear axle left (driver's side)
  • Supplied with flared connections
  • Replaces corroded or damaged original lines
  • Essential component for brake safety

★ Precisely pre-bent brake line that can be fitted directly without on-site adjustments.

Application

Fits Willys CJ-2A (1945-1949), CJ-3A (1948-1953), M38 (1950-1952) and CJ-3B (1953-1968) with 9" brake system. Note: for CJ-2A with Dana 41 rear axle and later models with Dana 44 rear axle. Always verify the original configuration of your vehicle.

Installation notes

Remove the old brake line and flush the brake system thoroughly. Fit the new line from wheel cylinder to T-piece on the axle. Use new copper sealing washers at the connections. Bleed the complete brake system after fitting as prescribed.

Compatibility

Suitable for left (driver's) side rear axle. Not interchangeable with right side. Check the routing and length of the original line before fitting. When converting to 11" brakes or disc brakes, different lines may be required.

Historical context

The original brake lines on CJ-series vehicles were routed along the rear axle with metal clips. Due to exposure to moisture, salt and off-road use, these lines often corrode, which compromises brake safety.
