These eye bolts replace the two lower mounting bolts of the pintle hook. The holes in the rear frame crossmember must be reamed out for the thicker shaft of the eye bolt (thicker than standard pintle bolts). Early vehicles without trailer socket did not have these holes pre-reamed — a retro-fit kit required drilling out. Fit with nut on inside of crossmember.
Compatibility
Caution: early jeeps (before introduction of trailer socket) had smaller bore holes that must first be enlarged. Late production vehicles had this modification from the factory. Not all vehicles with pintle hook had eye bolts as standard — check that your frame has the correct hole size.
