Attachment is by 4 rivets (2 per side) to 90-degree tabs on the frame horns. Additionally reinforced with welds at top and bottom where the cross member meets the frame rails. On early frames (pre mid-1942), the reinforcement plates on the frame rails are executed differently than on late frames.
Compatibility
Note: there is a slight difference in design between Willys MB and Ford GPW cross members in the corner where the metal bends downward. Check which version you require for correct restoration. There are also differences between early and late frames in the reinforcement construction at the rear spring hanger.
