The shaft is installed with washers (A498) and cotter pins. Check during installation that the bearing blocks on the frame are not worn. The pedal arms are attached to the shaft with clamp bolts or key (woodruff key 5036). Lateral play of 2-3mm is normal.
Compatibility
Not compatible with later civilian models such as CJ-2A, CJ-3A or M38 which use a different shaft configuration. Early MB/GPW version differs from later versions — check whether cotter pin hole on clutch side is required.
