Antenna Sections (Set of 5)
MS-49 to MS-53 for military radio sets
Complete set of five antenna sections as used on WWII military radio sets. These copper-plated steel sections screw together and form a complete antenna mast for vehicle radio installations. The set consists of MS-49 (top section) to MS-53 (bottom section), each approximately 1 metre long.

★ Replica of the standard WWII antenna mast sections as used on Signal Corps radio sets. Suitable for authentic restorations of military vehicles with radio equipment.
Application
These antenna sections were used on various WWII military radio sets, including SCR-284, SCR-510, SCR-610, SCR-508, SCR-608 and related sets. The sections fit standard antenna bases such as MP-48 and MP-50. For HF radio sets, all five sections were used, FM sets typically used only MS-53, MS-52 and MS-51 (three sections).
Installation notes
The sections screw together, with the thinnest (MS-49) at the top and the thickest (MS-53) screwing onto the antenna base at the bottom. For safe driving, the sections must be secured with MC clamps (MC-424 to MC-421) to prevent unscrewing. In use, it is recommended to tape or clamp the connections — loose sections are easily lost whilst driving.
Compatibility
The set is compatible with standard WWII antenna bases such as MP-48 (Ohio Brass) and MP-50. Not all radio sets use all five sections: HF radio sets (SCR-284, SCR-694) use MS-53 to MS-49, whilst FM sets (SCR-510, SCR-610) typically use only MS-53, MS-52 and MS-51. MS-52 is the most vulnerable section and is often lost.
Historical context
The MS-49 to MS-53 antenna sections were standard equipment on U.S. Signal Corps radio sets during WWII. The sections were produced with colour-coded ends and featured decals with MS numbering for easy identification.
