Installation notes
The MP50 is mounted in combination with an L-shaped body bracket which is attached to the rear of the vehicle, with the short side against the driver's side. The bracket should be pre-drilled according to the mounting location for your specific vehicle variant. Mounting is preferably done forward of the wheel, near the grab handle bracket.
Compatibility
Used for mounting AB-15 aerial mast base (with MS-116/117/118 sections) or MP-65 mast base. Not to be confused with the MP-48 base which has different mounting requirements. The corresponding L-bracket differs per vehicle type (M38 versus M38A1) due to different body widths.
Historical context
The MP50 mounting bracket was used as standard from WWII onwards for military radio communication installations such as the SCR-694 set. The bracket remained in use through the M38A1 period and was later replaced by newer aerial systems.
