Radio conduit 6V floor mounting

For radio terminal junction box installation

Metal protective conduit for the electrical wiring between the foot switch and the radio terminal junction box. The conduit runs through the floor behind the front seats and protects the power cable to the radio junction box mounted against the right inner wall beneath the passenger seat. Essential component for a correct radio installation in late-war jeeps.

Features

  • Protective conduit for radio cable
  • Connects foot switch to radio junction box
  • Runs through vehicle floor behind front seats
  • Protects wiring against mechanical damage
  • For 6V radio installations

★ Replica of original WWII radio conduit. Protects the power cable running from the foot switch to the radio junction box.

Application

For vehicles equipped with radio terminal junction box (introduced March 1943 from Willys MB 217543 onwards, and from mid-1943 in Ford GPW). The conduit runs through the transmission tunnel area of the floor and protects the cable supplying power to the radio junction box beneath the passenger seat.

Installation notes

The conduit is fed through a pre-drilled hole in the floor behind the front seat mounting, runs beneath the body and connects to the foot switch via cable clips. The other end mounts into the radio junction box on the passenger side. Differences exist between Willys MB and Ford GPW versions regarding conduit shape.

Compatibility

Specific to vehicles with factory-fitted or post-war radio installation. NOT present on all jeeps — only vehicles with radio terminal junction box (late 1943-1945 production). Differences exist between Willys MB and Ford GPW conduit shapes.

Historical context

The radio terminal junction box with associated conduit was introduced in March 1943 to supply power to military radio equipment such as the SCR-510 and SCR-610. The conduit protected the wiring against terrain conditions and mechanical stress.
