Material

Cork/rubber composite

Application

L-134 engine with chain drive

Function

Chain cover seal

Type

Flat gasket

Features

  • Seal between timing chain cover and engine block
  • Prevents oil leakage at the front of the engine
  • Replacement part for L-134 Go Devil engine
  • Suitable for engines with chain-driven camshafts
  • Quality material resistant to engine oil and high temperatures

★ Essential component during engine maintenance — always replace the gasket when removing the timing chain cover.

Installation notes

Ensure that the contact surfaces of both the cover and the engine block are completely clean and flat before installation. Remove all remnants of the old gasket and clean thoroughly with a suitable degreaser. When removing the cover, check the condition of the crankshaft oil seal in the cover.

Compatibility

Please note: this gasket is specific to L-134 engines with chain drive for the camshafts (timing chain). Not suitable for later engines with gear drive (timing gear). If in doubt: check whether your engine has a chain or gears for the camshaft drive.

Historical context

The L-134 Go Devil engine was originally produced with chain drive for the camshafts in the early production years. This system was later replaced by a gear drive for improved reliability.
