Crankshaft oil slinger

For 134ci L-head and F-head engines

Oil slinger for the crankshaft of the 4-134 engine. This thin metal disc prevents excessive oil pressure on the front crankshaft seal by deflecting oil away from the timing chain. Essential component for reliable timing cover sealing.

Material

Steel

Application

4-134ci L-head and F-head engines

Function

Crankshaft seal protection

Fitting

Between crankshaft and pulley

Features

  • Protects the front crankshaft seal against excessive oil pressure
  • Prevents oil leaks at the timing cover
  • Suitable for both chain and gear drive
  • Fitted between crankshaft snout and pulley
  • Replacement part for 4-134 engines

★ Quality component for the 134ci engine — both L-head 'Go Devil' and F-head 'Hurricane' versions.

Installation notes

The oil slinger is fitted onto the crankshaft snout, in front of the front seal. It sits clamped between the crankshaft shoulder and the pulley. Ensure the slinger lies flat and is not distorted — a bent slinger can contact bearings. Check crankshaft end play after fitting.

Compatibility

Fits all 4-134ci engines (L-head and F-head). Suitable for engines with chain drive (early MB/GPW/M201/early CJ-2A) and gear drive (late CJ-2A/CJ-3A/CJ-3B/M38). Used in combination with timing cover seal 931634.

Historical context

The oil slinger was standard fitment on all WWII and post-war 134ci engines. Without this slinger, the crankshaft seal would be overloaded by the high oil pressure from the timing chain lubrication and would leak.
