Crankshaft Pulley Double Groove 24 Volt Type

For L-134 and F-134 engines with 24V system

Crankshaft pulley with double groove, developed for military jeeps with 24 volt electrical system. This pulley was originally fitted to vehicles with 24V generator or alternator and uses two narrow V-belts for reliable power transmission from the crankshaft to water pump and generator/alternator.

Type

Double groove (two V-belts)

Application

24 volt electrical systems

Engine

L-134 and F-134 engines

Construction

Pressed and riveted type

Features

  • Double groove for two narrow V-belts
  • Specific for 24 volt configuration
  • Suitable for L-head (flathead) and F-head engines
  • Original military specification
  • Attachment with crankshaft bolt and lock nut

★ Reproduction to original military specification, manufactured with pressed and riveted construction like the original pulleys.

Application

This pulley is developed for jeeps with 24 volt electrical systems. Originally fitted to M38, M38A1 and M170 military jeeps (1950-1966) and Hotchkiss M201 24V models (1960-1966). Fits both the L-134 flathead engine and the F-134 overhead valve engine. The double groove accommodates two narrow V-belts connecting the crankshaft to water pump and generator/alternator.

Installation notes

During installation: the pulley is secured with the crankshaft bolt and lock nut. Check alignment with water pump and generator/alternator pulley. Both grooves are designed for narrow V-belts (not for wide civilian belts). Note: some reproductions require slight adjustment of the centre bore for optimal fitting on the crankshaft.

Compatibility

PLEASE NOTE: This is the 24 volt configuration with double groove for narrow belts. NOT suitable for standard 6V MB/GPW, CJ-2A or civilian jeeps using single wide pulleys. The 24V systems (M38/M38A1/M201-24V) have a different pulley configuration than 6V vehicles. Check your electrical system (6V or 24V) before ordering.

Historical context

The 24 volt configuration was introduced by the U.S. Army on the M38 (1950) and M38A1 (1952-1966) to provide more reliable electrical performance under demanding military conditions. The Hotchkiss M201 24V was produced from 1960 for the French Army.
