★ Precision bearing shell for professional engine overhauls. Always check crankshaft dimensions before fitting for optimum fit and service life.

Installation notes

Connecting rod bolt torque: 6.2–6.9 m·kg (45 lb-ft). Always check crankshaft dimensions before fitting — regrinding determines which undersize is required. Bearing shells are supplied individually; 4 pieces required per engine. Clean and degrease, fit dry without additional lubricant on the running surface. Check bearing clearance with plastigauge.

Compatibility

Available in various undersizes (.010,.020,.030,.040) — select the size matching the reground crankshaft. Not interchangeable with standard size. Fits both chain-driven (early MB/GPW) and gear-driven (late CJ/M38A1) L-134 engines, as well as all F-134 engines.

Historical context

The Willys L-134 and F-134 4-cylinder engines formed the heart of military and civilian jeeps from 1941 through to the early 1970s. Undersize bearing shells are essential for engine overhauls where the crankshaft has been reground after wear.
