BEARING CONNECTING ROD 010 (SET OF 4)
Connecting Rod Bearing 0.010" Undersize
Set of 4 pieces
Connecting rod bearing in 0.010" (0.25 mm) undersize for restoration of L-134 and F-134 four-cylinder engines. Each bearing consists of two halves that fit around the crankshaft journal. A complete engine overhaul requires 4 bearings (8 half shells) — one per connecting rod.

Engine L-134 Go Devil & F-134 Hurricane |
|
Contents 4 bearings (8 half shells) |
Application Ground crankshaft after engine overhaul |
Features
- For L-134 flathead and F-134 F-head four-cylinder engines
- 0.010" (0.25 mm) undersize — for ground crankshafts
- Set of 4 complete bearings (= 8 half shells)
- For use after precise measurement of crankshaft journals
- Suitable for both chain-driven and gear-driven engines
★ Essential component in any engine restoration where the crankshaft has been ground. Always submit the crankshaft first for inspection and grinding — the machinist determines which undersize is required (standard,.010",.020",.030",.040").
Application
Fits Willys MB (1941-1945), Ford GPW (1941-1945), Hotchkiss M201, CJ-2A (1945-1949), CJ-3A (1949-1953), CJ-3B (1953-1964), M38 (1950-1952) and M38A1 (1952-1966) with L-134 or F-134 engine. Note: connecting rod bearings are supplied in various undersizes depending on the extent to which the crankshaft has been ground. Always measure the crankshaft journals or have them checked by an engine specialist before ordering.
Installation notes
Critical: only order after precise measurement of the crankshaft journals. Each crankshaft may require a different undersize. The connecting rod bearings are fitted with the notch aligned with the groove in the connecting rod and cap. Modern bearings have two oil holes in both halves — one must align with the oil squirt hole in the connecting rod. Torque specification for cap: 45 lb-ft (approximately 61 Nm). Ensure all surfaces are clean; no dirt behind the bearing shells.
Compatibility
Note: the L-134 engine exists in two variants — chain-driven (early MB/GPW/M201/early CJ-2A) and gear-driven (late CJ-2A and all later models). These bearings fit both variants. Connecting rods are not all identical: cylinders 1 and 3 have one type of offset, cylinders 2 and 4 another. During assembly, the shorter side of the offset must point towards the nearest crankshaft bearing.
Historical context
The Willys L-134 'Go Devil' engine powered virtually all WWII jeeps and was continued in the first civilian CJ models after the war. The later F-134 'Hurricane' replaced the flathead design with a more efficient F-head configuration with overhead intake valves, but retained the same bore, stroke and bearing dimensions.
