★ Essential component for professional engine overhaul. These undersize bearings are used when crankshaft journals have been ground during overhaul to remove damage or wear.

Application

Suitable for Willys MB, Ford GPW, Hotchkiss M201, CJ-2A, CJ-3A, CJ-3B and M38 with 4-134 ci (134 cubic inch) L-head or F-head engine. Application years: 1941-1971. Note: only to be used with crankshafts ground 0.020".

Installation notes

Torque for main bearing cap: 65-75 ft-lbs (9.0-10.4 m/kg). Check crankshaft journal dimension with micrometer before installation — bearings must match ground diameter exactly. Install pre-oiled with engine oil. Use new bolts if originals are damaged or stretched.

Compatibility

Fits all 4-134 engines, both L-head (flathead, chain-driven camshaft) and F-head (Hurricane, gear-driven camshaft). Not compatible with standard crankshafts — exclusively for crankshafts ground 0.020" undersize. For other grinding dimensions, sets are available in standard,.010",.030",.040" undersize.

Historical context

The 4-134 engine was used from 1941 to 1971 in numerous Willys and Jeep vehicles. During WWII, the L-134 'Go Devil' formed the beating heart of the legendary Willys MB and Ford GPW jeeps.
