Features
- Oversize 0.040" for rebored cylinders
- Complete with piston pins
- Suitable for both L-head (flathead) and F-head engines
- For 134 ci (2,199cc) four-cylinder engines
- Standard bore 3.125" + 0.040" oversize
★ High-quality oversize pistons for professional engine overhaul of 134 ci four-cylinder engines. Set supplied complete with piston pins.
Application
For engines with cylinder blocks bored 0.040" (1.016 mm) oversize. The standard piston diameter of 79.375 mm (3.125") is thereby increased to 80.39 mm (3.165"). Suitable for both the L-134 flathead engine (with side valves) and the F-134 overhead valve engine.
Installation notes
Cylinder blocks must be bored and honed to exactly 0.040" oversize by a specialist engine workshop. The workshop must have the pistons in hand beforehand to verify correct fitting with a pull gauge. Piston clearance in cylinder: 0.0015 to 0.0020 inch (0.038 to 0.051 mm) according to TM specifications. Piston rings are not included and must be ordered separately in 0.040" oversize.
Compatibility
These pistons fit both the L-134 'Go Devil' flathead engine and the F-134 'Hurricane' overhead valve engine. Both engines share the same bore and stroke (3.125" x 4.375"). Note: always verify the exact bore of your cylinder block before ordering pistons. Other oversize dimensions (.010,.020,.030,.060) are also available.
Historical context
The 134 ci four-cylinder engine was the reliable powerplant of countless military and civilian jeeps from 1941 onwards. The L-134 flathead version initially powered the Willys MB and Ford GPW during WWII, whilst the improved F-134 overhead valve version was adopted from the 1950s.
