★ High-quality piston ring set for professional engine rebuilds. Precisely manufactured to OE specifications for optimal compression and oil control.

Application

020" oversize piston ring set fits all 134ci engines where cylinders have been bored to +.020" oversize. This applies to both the L-134 Go Devil flathead engine and the F-134 Hurricane F-head engine. Used during engine rebuilds where cylinder wear requires enlarging the bore from standard 3.125" (79.37mm) to 3.145" (79.88mm).

Installation notes

Installation only by experienced engine rebuilders. Check the ring end gap in the bored cylinder — this should be between.010" and.020". Install the rings with correct orientation and observe the sequence: lower oil ring, middle compression ring, upper compression ring. Use a piston ring installer to prevent damage. Lubricate rings and cylinder wall thoroughly before first start.

Compatibility

IMPORTANT: This set is ONLY suitable for engines with cylinders bored exactly.020" oversize. Check before ordering that cylinders are actually bored to this size. Does NOT fit standard cylinders — for these, the STD set is required. If in doubt about the correct oversize: measure the cylinder bore accurately. The set fits both chain-driven (early MB/GPW) and gear-driven (late CJ) versions of the 134ci engine.

Historical context

The 134ci Go Devil engine formed the heart of the WWII jeep and delivered 54-60 hp at 4000 rpm. Engine rebuilds with oversized piston rings were standard procedure to compensate for field wear and give engines a second life.
