Application

Suitable for 4-134 engines in Willys MB (1941-1945), Ford GPW (1941-1945), CJ-2A (1945-1949), CJ-3A (1948-1953), M38 (1950-1952), CJ-3B (1953-1968), M38A1 (1952-1963), CJ-5 (1955-1971), CJ-6 (1955-1971), Hotchkiss M201, various Willys trucks, Station Wagons and Jeepsters fitted with L-134 or F-134 engine.

Installation notes

Requires professional cylinder boring to 0.030 inch oversize (bore 3.155 inch / 80.14 mm). Check ring end gap according to specifications (top ring approx. 014 inch, second ring approx. 017 inch). Fit using piston ring pliers to avoid damage. Lubricate cylinder walls before installation.

Compatibility

Fits both chain-driven (early MB/GPW/M201/early CJ-2A) and gear-driven (late CJ-2A/CJ-3A/CJ-3B/M38/M38A1) variants of the 134 ci engine. Not suitable for standard bore — only for engines bored 0.030 inch oversize. Other oversizes available are 0.010, 0.020, 0.040 and 0.060 inch.

Historical context

The Willys 134 ci engine (both L-134 flathead and F-134 overhead valve) was the beating heart of millions of WWII and post-war jeeps. These piston rings enable professional restoration of worn engine blocks, allowing these historic engines to be returned to original condition.
