Crankcase Ventilation Filter

Baffle for PCV system

Replacement baffle for the positive crankcase ventilation system. This internal filter element sits inside the ventilator housing mounted on the valve spring cover and provides filtration of crankcase gases before they are routed to the inlet manifold via the PCV valve.

Application

L-134 and F-134 engines

System

Positive crankcase ventilation (PCV)

Fitting

In ventilator housing A6919

Type

Internal filter element

Features

  • Filter element for crankcase ventilation system
  • Fits inside PCV ventilator housing
  • Prevents contamination of PCV valve
  • Helps reduce oil consumption
  • Essential for properly functioning ventilation system

★ Replacement part for the closed crankcase ventilation system fitted as standard on jeeps with L-134 and F-134 engines. Ensures clean evacuation of crankcase gases.

Installation notes

This filter element is fitted inside the ventilator housing (cup body, part A6919) which mounts onto the valve spring cover. When replacing, also check the gasket (630299) and operation of the PCV valve itself.

Compatibility

Suitable for vehicles with L-134 Go Devil or F-134 Hurricane engine equipped with a closed PCV system. Not all early engines had this system — some used an open road draft tube. Check whether your engine has a PCV housing on the valve spring cover before ordering this part.

Historical context

The closed positive crankcase ventilation system was introduced by Willys to recirculate crankcase gases rather than venting them to atmosphere via an open draft tube — crucial for off-road use at low speeds where a road draft tube provided insufficient operation.
