Mounting on wing with mounting brackets (left and right). Connection to carburettor via flexible hose and air elbow. Fill lower reservoir to mark with engine oil (SAE 30 or 10W-30). Regular maintenance required: flush with petrol, refill with fresh oil.
Compatibility
Fits Willys MB and Ford GPW with standard L-134 Go Devil engine. Not to be confused with the early 'pancake' air filter (serial numbers 100001-124308, Nov 1941-March 1942) or the early/mid 1942-1943 version with separate instruction plate. Standard outlet diameter 2⅛ inch.
Historical context
The oil bath air filter system was introduced in March 1942 to replace the earlier 'pancake' type filter. The late version with embossed instructions was introduced in 1943 and remained in use until the end of WWII production.
