Application
Used on all Ford GPW from start of production (SOP) until November 1942. Also fits Willys MB models from the same period, provided they have the small filler neck with F-script marking.
Installation notes
The cap fits exclusively on the early petrol tank with narrow (small mouth) filler neck. Not compatible with the later wide filler neck introduced from 1943. Please verify that your tank has the correct narrow opening before ordering.
Compatibility
PLEASE NOTE: This is exclusively the early version. From 1943 onwards, production changed to a larger tank cap with wide filler neck (large/wide mouth). Check which type of filler neck your vehicle has - early jeeps until approximately early 1942 have the narrow neck, later production has the wide neck.
Historical context
Ford produced the GPW under licence from Willys and marked virtually every component with their characteristic F-script, including the petrol tank and tank cap. In early 1943, production was changed to a wider filler neck for easier refuelling.
