This large mouth fuel cap (117mm) fits exclusively on fuel tanks with large filler neck. The early MB and GPW models (1941 to November 1942) had a smaller filler neck of 2 7/8 inches (approx. 73mm) and require the small mouth fuel cap. Check the diameter of your tank opening before ordering.
