Application
Suitable for early Willys MB (1941 until September/November 1942). Early tanks featured a small filler neck without telescopic extension. From late 1942 onwards, tanks with large filler neck (large mouth) with extension were introduced.
Installation notes
Tank mounts beneath the driver's seat. Check before installation that the tank outlet and mounting points correspond with your chassis. Use new felt strips to prevent rattling noises. Tank is secured with two retaining straps.
Compatibility
NOT compatible with late tanks: from September 1942 onwards, jeeps received tanks with large filler neck and telescopic extension. Check your original tank or chassis number to determine the correct type. The late tanks (A-6618 and A-15507) are NOT interchangeable without modification to the seat pan.
Historical context
Early WWII jeeps (1941 until mid-1942) featured a simple fuel tank with small filler neck. This design was replaced during 1942 with a tank featuring a larger opening and telescopic extension to facilitate refuelling from jerrycans.
