★ This tank coating is specifically developed for restoration of military vehicles and classic jeeps. The coating must be applied after cleaning and derusting the tank for optimal results.
Application
Suitable for treatment of metal fuel tanks. For optimal results, first clean the tank with a degreaser and treat with a rust remover. The 600ml set is sufficient for tanks with a capacity of 20 to 24 litres.
Installation notes
Mix both components thoroughly together. Fill the tank and close the filler opening. Rotate the tank slowly in all directions for 15 minutes so that the coating reaches all points of the interior. Drain excess liquid through the filler opening. Leave the tank open during curing. Minimum application temperature of tank and coating: 20°C. After curing for at least 7 days at room temperature, the tank can be put back into service.
Compatibility
Suitable for metal fuel tanks. Not suitable for tanks with plastic components. Tank must be structurally intact — coating seals small leaks and porous seams, but cannot repair larger damage. For best adhesion, first treat with specific tank cleaner and rust remover.
Historical context
Epoxy tank coatings were developed in the post-war period to enable restoration of aged fuel tanks of military vehicles rather than replacement. The method makes it possible to preserve original tanks during restorations.
