Features
- Removes old epoxy coatings and paint layers
- Only suitable for steel fuel tanks
- Not suitable for aluminium or plastic tanks
- Working time approximately 1 day
- Thorough rinsing with tank cleaner mandatory after use
★ Essential product for restoration of old fuel tanks when a previous coating has failed or prior to welding work. Only suitable for steel tanks.
Application
Suitable for steel fuel tanks of military vehicles, classic vehicles, mopeds and tractors. Used when an old, deteriorating coating must be completely removed before applying a new coating, or when welding or soldering work on the tank is required. At temperatures above approximately 150°C, epoxy coatings melt, making welding impossible without prior removal.
Installation notes
First clean the tank thoroughly with water and allow to dry completely. Apply the product and leave to work for 1 day. After use, rinse the tank very thoroughly with tank cleaner to remove all residues. Never combine different chemical products without rinsing the tank thoroughly with water in between. Wear protective gloves and ensure good ventilation.
Compatibility
Only suitable for steel fuel tanks. NOT suitable for aluminium or plastic tanks — the product may damage these materials. Only use this product when removal of an old coating is necessary. For normal tank restoration where no coating is present, a combination of tank cleaner and rust remover is sufficient.
Historical context
Developed as a specialised product within the tank restoration range for removing failed or unwanted tank coatings that were extensively applied from the 1970s onwards in classic and military vehicles.
