GAUGE FUEL LEVEL JEEP US 12 VOLTS
Fuel Gauge 12 Volt
For US Jeep models
Reproduction fuel level gauge, specifically developed for jeeps with a 12 volt electrical system. This gauge mounts directly into the instrument panel with the original 2 inch (±50mm) diameter and works together with a compatible tank sender.

Design 2 inch diameter, black bezel, white pointer |
Voltage 12 Volt |
|
Connection 3 connection points (IGN, GND, Sender) |
Application Replacement for jeeps converted to 12V |
Features
- Black bezel with white needle for classic appearance
- Complete with mounting hardware
- Three connection points: IGN (power via ignition), GND (earth), S (tank sender)
- Fine adjustment option via opening at rear
- Mounts as original with two mounting points
★ This gauge is specifically intended for vehicles converted from the original 6 volt system to 12 volt. Original 6 volt gauges cannot work directly on 12 volt and must be replaced or connected via a voltage reducer.
Application
Suitable for Willys MB, Ford GPW, CJ-2A, CJ-3A, CJ-3B and M38/M38A1 models converted to a 12 volt electrical system. Fits in the standard 2 inch instrument panel as originally fitted from 1941 to mid-1960s.
Installation notes
Note: this gauge must be combined with a 12V compatible tank sender. The IGN connection (left) connects to the ignition switch, the S connection to the tank sender wire, and the earth must be properly earthed. Good earthing is essential for correct operation. Fine adjustment possible via small opening at rear with flat-blade screwdriver.
Compatibility
NOT compatible with original 6V tank senders without modification. The gauge and tank sender must be matched in terms of resistance values (ohm). Original WWII MB/GPW vehicles had a 6 volt system — this gauge is exclusively for converted 12V systems. To retain original 6V configuration, a voltage reducer is required or a 6V gauge must be used.
Historical context
Military jeeps such as the Willys MB and Ford GPW were originally supplied with 6 volt electrical systems. Many post-war civilian models retained this until 1957, when Willys switched to 12 volt as standard.
