Installation notes
Note for cold starting: use the choke but do NOT press the accelerator pedal whilst starting — this pushes in the choke and causes starting problems. On sloping terrain, internal ventilation may cause overflow issues; consider external ventilation modification. Always verify that the original spacer ring between fuel pump and block is present.
Compatibility
The Solex 32 PBIC has a fixed main jet — only the idle mixture is adjustable via the needle screw at the base. The main mixture cannot be adjusted. If running too rich, a fuel pressure regulator (1-4 psi) may be required. Not compatible with all inlet manifolds — verify manifold type before ordering.
Historical context
The Solex 32 PBIC was originally manufactured by Solex in France for the French Hotchkiss M201 jeep, and later also produced in India for the French army.
