HORN 12 VOLTS SPARTON
This horn is a finely crafted reproduction of the original Sparton Horn which has not been available for many years. We took an original horn, carefully measured every aspect and produced computer drawings for manufacturing. As a result, every single component both internally and externally is an exact replica of the Sparton original. The horn looks just like the original and, importantly, because the working parts are also manufactured to the same stringent specifications as the exterior, the horn has the same sound as the original. No longer do restorers have to pay exorbitant prices for originals.
Horn 12 Volt
For 12V conversion
This 12 volt horn is intended for vehicles whose electrical system has been converted from the original 6 volt to 12 volt. A common modification on WWII military vehicles that are used regularly or modernised for improved reliability and compatibility with modern electrical components.

Features
- 12 volt version for converted vehicles
- Replacement for original 6V horn
- Suitable after 6V to 12V conversion
- Metal construction
- Tested and working
★ Practical solution when upgrading electrical system from 6V to 12V. Uses original mounting points.
Application
Specifically for vehicles with 12 volt electrical system. Original WWII vehicles such as Willys MB and Ford GPW had a 6 volt system. This 12V horn is intended for vehicles where the complete electrical system has been converted to 12V (including battery, dynamo/alternator, lamps and other electrical components).
Installation notes
Check before fitting that the complete electrical system has been converted to 12V. A 12V horn on a 6V system will not work correctly; a 12V horn connected to 6V will produce insufficient sound. Polarity (+ and -) is not critical for the horn itself.
Compatibility
Not compatible with original 6 volt systems. For vehicles still running original 6V: use a 6V horn or fit a voltage reducer (12V to 6V). Please note: this horn is a modern modification part, not a correct restoration part for period-authentic builds.
Historical context
The original WWII jeeps (MB/GPW) had a 6 volt electrical system. Conversion to 12 volt has been a commonly performed modernisation since the 1960s-70s, driven by better parts availability, improved starting power and compatibility with modern accessories.
